Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Access
  • Nurse Entrance Test Study Guide
  1. Step 1

Obtain a copy of the NET test study guide and read it completely. Complete the practice tests. Pay attention to the Reading Comprehension. This is the most difficult part of the test. Know what the question is asking and know the difference between a main idea and an inference.

  2. Step 2

Search the internet for online practice reading comprehension tests. Take everyone that you can. Keep timing yourself and know your strenghts and weaknesses. Once you have mastered the Main Idea focus on Inferences. The website Learnatest.com is an excellent resource.

  3. Step 3

When it comes time to take the test don't sweat the math portion. It is mostly simple percentages, adding, subtraction and fractions. You will have more than enough time to complete it. The reading is the tricky part. DO NOT try to read the entire passage and understand it. Skim the passage and then read what the question is asking. Look at your choices and go back to the passage for the answer. Keep in mind, the main idea is usually found in the first or last sentence of the passage. Inferences are not stated in the paragraph. You really almost have to speed read. Don't try to understand every little thing in the passage.

Tips & Warnings
  • The important thing to remember while preparing for this test is to practice. Practice at least an hour a day.
