Learn how to get rid of, or at least reduce, those unsightly bumps and redness on your arms! This is a simple everyday process that can help reduce and even eliminate keratosis pilaris.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Alpha Hydroxy Lotion
  • Loofa (or similar product)
  1. Step 1

Keratosis Pilaris is a genetic condition that cannot be cured. This daily treatment can help greatly reduce and even get rid of those red bumps temporarily, as long as you keep up with the treatment!

  2. Step 2

Purchase Alpha Hydroxy Lotion from your nearest pharmacy. This will cost about $10-15. You can also purchase a loofah from your pharmacy as well.

  3. Step 3

Each time you shower, scrub your arm with a loofa. Start out using light to moderate pressure. As time goes on, you can apply more pressure as your skin gets used to it. Be careful not to rub so hard as to irrate your skin and cause minor bleeding.

  4. Step 4

After each shower apply Alpha Hydroxy lotion. You may also want to do this an additional time each day.

  5. Step 5

Continue doing this each day even after the bumps disappear. Failure to do so will allow the bumps to reappear.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you are religious about applying the lotion. If you do not do it frequently and consistently, you will not start to see results.
  • Results may take up to weeks to happen, be patient, and keep applying!
  • Do not scrub skin with a lot of pressure using the loofah to start. The skin can be very tender and this may actually cause more pain and even bleeding.
