This is the proper way to season a cast iron fry pan. All of the dos and don't s that you will need. How to clean and how to cook.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cast iron fry pan Olive oil Spray cooking oil Paper towels
  1. Step 1

    NEVER WASH PAN WITH SOAP!
    Take your brand new cast iron fry pan and fill with two cups of water and bring water to boil. Turn off heat and wait till cool.

  2. Step 2

    Empty water and dry pan with paper towels.
    Coat inside of pan with a thin coat of olive oil.

  3. Step 3

    From this point forward use pan on medium heat only. May have to wait for pan to heat when cooking.

  4. Step 4

    NEVER WASH PAN WITH SOAP!

  5. Step 5

    Spray a very small amount of cooking oil on inside of pan. Scramble 2 eggs, cook until done. Do not eat eggs, discard eggs.

  6. Step 6

    Rinse pan with water and wipe out pan with paper towels, making sure not to leave any food partials.
    If needed, lightly use a plastic scrubber.

  7. Step 7

    Dry pan with paper towels and coat inside of pan with a thin coat of olive oil.

  8. Step 8

    Before cooking, spray a very small amount of cooking oil on inside of pan.

  9. Step 9

    To clean pan, repeat steps 6 and 7

    To cook repeat step 8
