Here are the steps to using your silicone muffin pan successfully! These will last a long time with the right care and produce excellent muffins that your family will love.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your Silicone Muffin Pan
  • Any muffin recipe of your choice
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Cookie sheet
  1. Step 1

Wash and dry your silicone muffin pan before first use.

  2. Step 2

Choose any muffin recipe of your choice and make it to the specifications. I used my Banana Nut Bread muffin recipe for these photos, which you can find in my other articles.

  3. Step 3

Sit the silicone on a sturdy cookie sheet. This makes it much easier to handle in and out of the oven. There are also special made holders for the muffin pans and this is another option to purchase if you wish to. The cookie sheets work beautifully, however.

  4. Step 4

Coat the inside of the muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray or swipe it down with butter. A little goes a long way. This not only makes the muffins pop out easier later, it helps with washing the pan when you’re through.

  5. Step 5

Fill the muffin cups according the recipe directions.

Bake until the muffins are thoroughly cooked per the recipe or when a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

  7. Step 7

Remove from the oven and transfer the silicone with oven mitts or dishtowels to either a wire rack to cool or onto hot pads. This step is essential; if you leave the muffins atop the oven on the cookie sheet the muffins will stay warm for too long and be difficult to remove, leaving pieces and muffin residue inside the cups.

  8. Step 8

Let cool at least twenty minutes or until the silicone doesn’t feel warm to the touch. The muffins will be easy to pop right out.

  9. Step 9

Soak the silicone in hot, sudsy water and wash. Either dry with a towel or let air dry until it’s time to use it again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use mitts or towels to handle the cookie sheet or the muffin pan.
