Buying new plants can be expensive and many times our mothers and grandmothers have the most beautiful rose bushes that we could only hope for. So here is a way to get a piece of that beauty, cheap.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • medium sized pot
  • soil
  1. Step 1

Find a long branch on the climbing rose bush. Take the branch and find a bending point about one to two feet from the end of the branch.

  2. Step 2

Start to bend the branch in the designated place slightly, be sure not to break the branch. Holding the bent piece, place it into the medium sized pot without any soil in it.

  3. Step 3

More than likely the branch will need to be held while you pour soil into the pot(having another person hold it will make it easier). Bury the bent part of the branch about 2 1/2 to 3 inches deep.

  4. Step 4

You should be able to see one end of the branch sticking out of the dirt, and the other end connected to the original bush.

  5. Step 5

Water it and fertilize it as normal. It will take a while for the covered area to take root so be patient. After about a month to a month and a half you can clip the connected branch, and you will have a new rose bush.
