Brushing an infant's teeth is just as important as remembering to brush your own! By keeping your infant's teeth clean you are reducing their chance of having cavities even before they have their teeth by removing the sugary milk that gets left in their mouth and gums! The following article gives tips and product recommendations on brushing your infant's teeth.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

After infant has finished drinking their bottle (or even finished breast feeding) wash your hands to ensure cleanliness for the next few steps.

  2. Step 2

Once hands are fully clean use a clean finger to wipe out the gums to remove any excess formula or milk from your infant's mouth.

  3. Step 3

Using an infant toothbrush that has been ran under a little luke warm water, gently massage your infant's gums. A good infant toothbrush to use is Infa-Dent Baby Soft Toothbrush which is a finger toothbrush that is gently on your baby's gums and mouth.

  4. Step 4

Give you infant half an ounce or so of water to finish washing down the milk or formula. Starting good habits like brushing your infant's teeth is a great way to promote a healthy lifestyle for you and your family.

Tips & Warnings
  • Even if you do not have time to brush your infant's teeth a good idea is to give your infant a little bit of water after a feeding to wash it all down.
  • Do not give your infant too much water or water down their formula. Just a little sip goes a long way for a baby!
