How to make an easy paper punch stencil for painting or tracing on fabric.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Freezer Paper
  • any kind of paper punch
  • regular iron
  • fabric prewashed/dryed
  1. Step 1

Tear off a piece of freezer paper, size depending on the size of your punch design, leaving a border. Example: if the size of your design is
1 inch then your piece of freezer paper would be 1.5 or 2 inches.

  2. Step 2

Fold the freeze paper in half, shiny sides together and iron on a cotton setting. This will make the freezer paper stiffer, easier to work with. If you are painting a multiple of times on fabric, using the same stencil this will make it easier to move the stencil around. Just remember to start at the top of your fabric.

  3. Step 3

Punch through the freezer paper and you have your stencil.
If you want to do multiple designs, make your freezer paper stencil
longer and or wider, depending on your punch and pattern. Punch a multiple of time on the paper and even in different directions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Freezer paper can also be ironed (shiny side down) on fabric for an even quicker stencil however you can not move it until the paint is dry.
  • Be sure to prewash and dry your fabric without fabric softner.
  • Iron will be hot, keep out of the reach of children and pets.
