Things You'll Need:
- Three or Four different cordinating fabrics, trims to contrast the fabrics chosen, Sissors, Pins, thread, needle, sewing machine.

Step 1
Cut a square of fabric 14" x 14".
Cut 4 - 20" x 5" pieces from a different fabric.
Cut 4 - 32" x 8" pieces from a third different fabric. -
Step 2
Center the 20" X 5" pieces on each side of the square piece of fabric (14" x 14"), and pin them on the back/wrong side of fabric.
Sew each 20" X 5" long strip with a 1/4" seam on all sides, leaving the ends for the next step. -
Step 3
At each end you will miter the corner by folding each corner at a 45 degree angle to form a corner miter. Pin each on the wrong side and sew.

Step 4
Repeat the process pin each piece on the wrong side by centering it to the main body of your runner and sewing a 1/4" seam allowance. At the corners follow step #5 with 45 degree miter angles on each end and sew.
You can repeat this as many times as desired and the size with grow larger.
9. finish the runner with trim at each seam area as seen in picture or not if desired.
10. Now cut a back for your finished runner by laying the runner on a piece of fabric, wrong side facing down, to a piece of fabric large enough to extend beyond all sides of the front of your runner. Pin the front to the back fabric which should have the right sides facing each other, and cut the back the same size as the front.
11. With the right sides together and already pinned, you are ready to sew around all sides, leaving an area 10" long unsown.
12. After turning the runner right sides out. Press it flat, and sew the 10" open area shut with a needle or machine.
13. If desired add a tassel to each corner or another trim to all sides of the finished runner. -
Step 5
Now cut a back fabric for your finished runner by laying the runner on a piece of fabric, wrong side facing down, to a piece of fabric large enough to extend beyond all sides of the front of your runner. Pin the front to the back fabric which should have the right sides facing each other, and cut the back the same size as the front.
With the right sides together and already pinned, you are ready to sew around all sides, leaving an area 10" long unsown.
After turning the runner right sides out. Press it flat, and sew the 10" open area shut with a needle or machine.
If desired add a tassel to each corner or another trim to all sides of the finished runner.
