The Party Starter!

This article is to show you how to play beer pong relay with family and friends when you have them over for a party. Its a simple game that can really get competitive and change things up from the normal gatherings, where people drink, chat, and have nothing to do.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 18 plastic cups (preferably solo cups)
  • 2 ping pong balls
  • beer
  • 1 eight foot long table or any fold out table will do
  1. Step 1

    About the Game:

This is a beer pong relay, in which two teams of 3 people compete to finish all the required challenges to win. The first person (player 1) from each team goes through all three challenges and then the next person in line goes (player 2) and so on (player 3). The team that goes through each set of challenges twice first wins.

  2. Step 2

    The Set Up:

Take the 18 plastic cups and set them out on the table. Each team will have 9 cups to set out on the table. The first cup that each team sets out is on one end of the table for challenge one. The second challenge is in the middle of the table in which you set down two cups spaced out from one another so they don't interfere with one another. The final challenge you rack the remaining 6 cups in the shape of a triangle similar to beer pong. Both teams should set cups up like this so all 18 cups are used.

Also have about 6 cans of beer on the side of the table, 3 for each team, to have to refill the cups.

  3. Step 3

    Playing the Game:

Now since the cups are laid out, you need to know the challenges. Challenge one begins with the first team member who has to bounce the ping pong ball into the cup. After this you chug the beer that is in the cup and move on to challenge two leaving the ball back in the cup.

Next is Challenge two in which you run to the side of the table where the 2 cups are side by side and chug the first cup and then you have to set the cup back down on edge of table so you can try and flick the cup upside down with your fingers. Once done you move on to the second cup same process.

Third Challenge you take the ping pong ball out of the cup of challenge one and shoot down at the opposite side of table where the stack of 6 cups in the shape of a triangle are sitting. Once you make a ball into a cup you run down and chug the contents of it thus completing the challenges for player 1.

Repeat challenges 1-3 with the remaining players.

Each team member will go through twice for the game to finish in which the last of the 6-cup triangle is made and chugged. Thus claiming the winning team.

  4. Step 4

    The Jobs:

To keep the game flowing at a steady pace, while player 1 of each team is going through each challenge, Player 2 is standing on the side of the table by challenge 2 with a can of beer to refill each cup that player 1 drinks. So to make more clear your job is filling the cups that player 1 is drinking so when its your turn you can do the challenges with filled cups of beer already. Player 3 is at the opposite end of the table and rebounds when player one gets to challenge 3 and shoots down at the 6-cup triangle. If player one misses player 3 rebounds and tosses the ball back down to player 1 to shoot until he/she makes a cup.

This then starts the turn of player 2 who starts the challenges, and player 3 is now on the job of refilling cups, and player 1 rebounds.
After player 2 finishes the challenges you switch once more.

Player 3 starts challenges, player 2 moves back to rebounding, and player 1 moves to refilling cups.

You repeat these steps until each player has gone through the set of challenges twice, and the remaining cup of the 6-cup triangle is made.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have the refilling partners paying close attention to when players are done chugging so he/she can have the beer open to refill right away after the cup is chugged.
