How to Win Tic Tac Toe
Tic tac toe is a simple game that is often played to fill time. It is one of the first games learned by many, and can be played anywhere there is pencil and paper. The game is played by two players alternately putting an X or an O in a square on a 3-by-3 grid. The game is won when one of the players gets three in a row.

1
Draw a 3 x 3 square grid on a piece of paper. The player designated with the X's makes the first move. Place an X in one of the four corner squares in the grid to start.
-
2
Place an X in the corner at a diagonal from your first move if the O player takes the center square. The game will end in a tie if your opponent then puts their O into one of the middle squares, but if he places an O in one of the corners, put your X into the remaining corner. This will give you two ways to make 3 in a row. The O player will try to block one of the rows, but you will win when you make an X in the other edge space.

3
Put an X in the center square if your opponent puts an O in one of the middle squares on his first move. If your opponent then puts an O in the corner to block you, this would allow you to win. This is called a block. Place your X in one of the corners not adjacent to an O-filled square, and as in step 2, no matter where the next O is placed, you will be able to make 3 in a row on your next move and win.

4
Put your X in one of the open corners if your opponent puts an O in a corner square on his first move. When O moves to block you, put your X in the remaining corner. As before, this gives you two ways to make 3 in a row.
