How to Connect an Optimus Microphone to Computer

Used with anything from speech-to-text dictation software and music recording software to Internet voice chat, a microphone will allow you to get a wider range of use out of your computer. Optimus microphones are ideal for singing and other musical performances due to their excellent pickup and lack of feedback interference.

Things You'll Need

• 1/4" to 3.5mm audio plug adapter

Instructions

1. Plug the microphone cable into the 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter so that the Optimus microphone can be used with your computer audio input jack.

2. Turn on your computer and wait for Windows to completely start up before moving forward.

3. Locate the audio input jack on your computer and plug the adapter in.

4. Click "Start"->"Control Panel"->"Sounds and Audio Devices", then click "Advanced."

5. Click "Options"->Properties" from the Master Volume window, find the entry for "Microphone" and ensure that the box is checked, then click "OK."

Tips & Warnings

• Ensure that the microphone volume is turned up and that it is not muted on the Master Volume window.
