How to Buy Red Sox Spring Training Tickets

Major League Baseball and its teams have made it very easy for fans to buy spring training tickets in advance, although you can always buy tickets the day of a spring training game at the stadium (or call a broker). The system for buying spring training tickets is much like the system in place for buying single game tickets during the regular season. This is standard for all of MLB. Here's how you do it.

Instructions

  1. How to get access to the tickets

    • 1

Log on to MLB.com or the Boston Red Sox's official website, http://www.bostonredsox.com.

    • 2

Call the ticket office or walk up to the ticket office at the Red Sox spring training facility, City of Palms Park at 2201 Edison Ave., Fort Myers, Florida. The phone number is 617-482-4SOX.

    • 3

Contact a ticket broker. StubHub would be an example of an online ticket broker as they re-sell hard-to-get tickets, like a ticket broker does. Of course, the ticket price will be more expensive if you choose to use a broker. There are other online ticket brokers as well, but MLB has named StubHub as its official online reseller.

    Buying the tickets online

Select the date(s) of the game(s) you want to see on the spring training schedule. The schedule can be found on the Red Sox's official website prior to spring training. Note: You should be looking at the month of March on the schedule.

Re-enter a verification code. MLB.com automatically generates a verification code before it issues seats in your shopping cart to make sure that anyone on its website trying to purchase tickets is real and legit. The code is typically a series of letters, but can also include numbers. Once you enter the code, you will be directed to your shopping cart.

Verify the number of tickets purchased and that the price you wish to pay for the tickets is correct. At this time, you will also be able to see what section of the price area you are in as well as the row and seat numbers. Most MLB.com team ticket web sites also provide a link for you to see a photo view of the field from the vicinity of your seats.

Pay for the tickets. A credit card is the only way you can purchase tickets through the Boston Red Sox website. They accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Tips & Warnings

  • Spring training information -- including dates of games and ticket prices -- aren't available until the late fall, once the baseball season ends with a new World Series champion being crowned. Most teams remove this information at the start of a season and update the information once the offseason begins, but the ticket buying process is the same as if you were buying regular season tickets. Check the Red Sox web site (or any other team's website) frequently for any updates. The best place to buy spring training tickets, unless you're using a broker, is through MLB's authorized team websites.
