A SMART Board is an interactive whiteboard that is frequently used in schools of all kinds. Although SMART Boards are in high demand right now, some people get confused during the purchasing process. The product cannot be purchased directly from its manufacturer, SMART technologies. Instead, it must be purchased through an authorized SMART reseller, which makes buying a SMART Board a little trickier than one may think. However, once you know the basic steps, you will discover that buying one is not all that difficult after all.

1. Go to SMART Technologies's website, at www.smarttech.com. Look for the “Where to Buy” link in the top blue navigation bar of the home page of this website, and click it.

2. Use the form that appears on the next page to locate an authorized SMART reseller in your area. To do so, simply enter either your state or zip code, and click the drop down menu box to select "school" for your market. Then click search.

3. Look through the list of authorized SMART resellers that appeared on the next screen. You may notice that each of the names on the list is a clickable hyperlink, which means all you need to do is click on the name to be taken to another webpage that will give you more information about that particular merchant.

4. Browse through the merchant's websites or display information to decide which to purchase from. This is just a personal preference, but may be based upon the current incentives being offered for each one or simply the one that is closest to you in location.

5. Contact the merchant and discuss buying the SMART Board, then make your purchase. Some merchants may allow you to purchase directly off of their website, while others may have you call or order in person.

Tips & Warnings

• It is possible to purchase a used SMART Board from places like eBay.com or Craigslist.com, and doing so may save you a substantial amount of money.
