      Open the battery and Memory Stick cover. Install the battery and close the cover. Connect the AC Adaptor to the DC In jack of the camera. Connect a power cord from the mains to the AC Adaptor and charge the camera. During charging the battery icon will flash. To turn the camera on, slide the power switch in the direction of the arrow.

      Set the Mode Dial to the Camera icon and set the date by moving the multiselector which is just above the screen on the back of the camera. The multiselector will allow you to change all of the menu items. Press the center for "OK." Insert a Memory Stick or Compact Flash (CF) card. Select the medium with the switch marked CF adjacent to the screen.

      To shoot an automatic image keep the camera mode dial on the Camera icon, hold the camera steady and position the subject in the frame. Press and hold the shutter down about half-way to focus. Then press the button fully down. The shutter will click and the image will be saved.

      Review the image by pressing the quick review button. It's the button at the bottom right of the back of the camera with an arrow icon on it. You can delete the image by pressing the button with the Garbage icon on it.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Finder/LCD switch on this Sony camera will allow you to alternately shoot using the viewfinder or LCD screen. Zoom in and out using the zoom ring on the lens. You can zoom in up to 7.1x optically.

  • Retract the lens to avoid damage when not in use. Always take test shots before shooting something important.
