Would you like to make a perfectly poached egg? Let me show you how to do it. You will be amazed at how easy it is!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Egg
  • Ramekin
  • Deep pan
  1. Step 1

First, fill a deep sauté pan halfway full of water. Turn on the heat to boil.

  2. Step 2

Spray your Ramekin with some non-stick spray, crack your egg open and place your raw egg into the Ramekin. Do not use vinegar. Give it a dash of salt and place the Ramekin into the pan. Place the lid on the pan.

  3. Step 3

To cook a perfectly poached egg, without a runny yolk, let the water reach a rapid boil for 3 minutes, turn the heat to medium-high for the remainder of the 10 minutes. If you would like your egg yolk to be slightly runny, reduce the time by 1 or 2 minutes depending on your desired outcome.

  4. Step 4

Turn off the heat, remove the lid, move the pan to an unused burner, and let rest for 1 minute. Remove the egg with a spoon...and you're good to go. You just made a perfectly poached egg, and the clean-up is a cinch!

Tips & Warnings
  • You must use a porcelain Ramekin.
  • Plastic containers used for poaching eggs are a pain to clean.
