Things You'll Need:
- 12 Pieces of Construction Paper cut in half
-
Step 1
Here is an example of a few movement cards. In preparation before the game write different movement words in large print on half-sheets of construction paper. Some examples of adjectives include but are not limited to: Jog, Fly, Crawl, Swim, Tiptoe, Skip, Twist, Slither, Skate, Jump, Leap, Sway, Waddle, Twirl, Walk, Jog, Slide, Bounce, Roll, Gallop, Prance, March, Pounce, and Bear Walk.
-
Step 2
Now that the cards are ready it's time to play the game. Divide the class into two teams and select one student from each team to stand behind the teacher and face the rest of the class.
-
Step 3
The teacher will show the class the movement words and the students will use their bodies to physically act out the movement until one of the two students guesses the movement correctly.
-
Step 4
Change guessers every two or three words to give everyone a chance to guess. Play Movement Charades for as long as you and the children like.
