When your considering having a child, it's important to know that your spouse will be the best parent she can be. Your values and your wife's beliefs should somehow coordinate and compliment each other. Perhaps your thinking about the future and wondering if your wife will be a good mother for your children. Here are a few tips to figure that out ahead of time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Does your wife like children and enjoy being around them? If your wife loves playing with children such as her nieces or her friend's children, chances are she'll be a great mother. A woman who does not pay much attention to children may not want any of her own or may not be
ready to think about having children herself right away. Some say that motherhood is instilled in women and that a woman knows she whether she wants children or not by her mid twenties; some women sooner. A good indication that your wife will be a great mother is to see how she
reacts around children and how attentive she is when she is near them.

  2. Step 2

Is your wife a good homemaker? Many women that take care of the home will make great mothers. If your wife enjoys being at home and taking care of the house by gardening, cooking, cleaning, and even fixing things, chances are she wants to have a family and will be a great mom. This is not always true of course. There are lots of women who take care of the home and do not wish to be mothers. There are also women who don't do so well in caring for household needs that make very good mothers. It all really depends. However, if your wife is caring and loving to her home, it's a good possibility that she'll care for her children the same way.

  3. Step 3

Does your wife have a good relationship with her mother? If your wife is close with her mother, chances are, she'll be a great mother. A women tends to parent the way her mother parented her. Again, this is not always true, but most of the time, women take what they were learned by their mothers and raise their own children the same way. Now, if your wife did not have a good relationship with her mother or was raised by her father, she still could be a great mother. I,
myself, was raised solely by my father and feel that I am a good mother. I take very good care of my son and we are super close. It all depends on how a woman decides to raise her children. But, if your wife is close to her mother, it's a good indicator that she'll be a great
    mother.

  4. Step 4

How does your wife feel about being a mother? Does she look at motherhood positively or is there some pessimism when she speaks of it. Find out what her views are on raising children. Understand that she may not be ready now, but explain to her that your just trying to get an idea of how she feels about raising a family. You'll be able to find out if your wife will be a good mother by her responses to raising children. Again, this may not tell you everything you need to know, but you'll at least learn more about what your wife thinks about children and raising a family. If your wife is excited about having children and wants to talk about the future, chances are, she'll be a great mother.
