This article will give you some tips on reusing plastic food containers. This will not only save you money, but your recycling helps the earth as well!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic containers from your food
  1. Step 1

When I say plastic containers I mean the containers that some foods come in like margarine/butter, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, cream cheese, spreads, sour cream, dips, and more.

  2. Step 2

After you are done eating the last of the food in the container thoroughly wash it out with soap and water and let it dry.

  3. Step 3

Use the containers to store left overs in. Use non-transparent tape or a label maker to label your leftovers. You can keep them longer if you freeze them. Using these containers will keep things organized. You will save money by not having to buy tupperware, and by having containers to reuse for freezing food leftovers.

  4. Step 4

You can also use these for your crafts. You can seperate your items into these containers and keep everything organized, beads, die cuts, paper scraps, stickers and more. If you go fishing you can keep worms in there. If you have a reptile you can store their crickets or worms in them.

  5. Step 5

You can use them as a planter: Decorate them, poke a hole in the bottom for drainage and use them to grow a plant. You can keep the lid on it until the plant starts to sprout up. By keeping the lid on you create a moist environment that rarely needs to be watered, and the seed doesn't need sunlight until it is sprouted out.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are an endless amount of uses for these containers so have fun!
