How to Delete Selected Browsing History

Web browsers maintain a record of the pages you view as you browse the Internet. The record allows the browser to load the page more rapidly if you visit the page again. Most Internet browsers--including Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Chrome--allow you to delete the complete record of pages you have visited. However, if you only want to delete selected browsing history information, you can do so in the Firefox browser.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Firefox. Click "Start" > "All Programs" > "Mozilla Firefox".

    • 2

Delete the entry from the Firefox History sidebar. Press the "Ctrl" and "H" buttons simultaneously to open the History sidebar. Locate the item you want to delete and right-click it, then select "Delete" from the context menu.

    • 3

Delete the entry from the visible history in Firefox's address bar. Click the down-arrow in the address bar to display the pull-down menu. Point to the item in the pull-down menu that you want to delete with your mouse, then press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

Delete the entry from the non-visible history in Firefox's address bar. Start typing the web address of the item you want to delete in the address bar. The pull-down screen will recognize and display the completed item. Point to the item with your mouse and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.
