How to Turn on the Fog Lights in a Pontiac G6 GT

Fog lights are primarily used to help illuminate the parts of the road that headlights cannot reach. Although fog lights are beneficial when driving through fog or mist; they can also help you see the markers of the road during heavy rains. The Pontiac G6 GT comes standard with fog lights; learn how to operate the fog lights in your Pontiac G6 GT, regardless of the year model.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Step into your Pontiac G6 GT and crank the vehicle. The fog lights will not turn on unless the vehicle is running.

  2. Step 2

    Depress the switch directly to the left of your steering wheel on the dash inlay. The switch is to the right of the button for the motorized pedals. An indicator light will illuminate when the switch is on.

    Get out of the vehicle and inspect the fog lights (located in the front of the vehicle, below the grille). The fog lights should be illuminated. If they are not, you have either a burnt bulb or an electrical wiring problem.

Tips & Warnings
  • The fog lights will not be on if your high beam headlight ("bright lights") is on. If your fog lights are not working, make sure your high beam isn't turned on.
