How to Create a Resume for an Internship
Creating an engaging resume is vital to landing an internship. A resume for someone applying for an internship is different than a standard resume. There is less focus on job experience. Instead, more attention is paid to goals, educational accomplishments and life experiences.

List your name and contact information including your email address. Your contact information should include the address and phone number you can be reached at currently. Do not put your permanent address. Instead, use the address where you live.

List your education. Include your college name and its city and state as well as your graduation date or expected graduation date if you are still attending. Include your area of concentration or major, your overall GPA and the GPA of your major.

List any awards, recognitions and honors. Include how many times you have made the Dean's List.

State an objective. This is what you are trying to accomplish through the internship. Examples include gaining experience in the industry and making contacts.

List your relevant experiences. Include the company's or organization's name, city and state as well as one or two points which discuss your responsibilities and what you got out of the experience. As a college student, you are not expected to have in-depth experience. Use this section to communicate that you are able to find value and learn from all your experiences.

List your computer skills. Include standard business applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as any computer programming experience you may have.
List your extracurricular activities. This section will give the reviewer a sense that you are a well-rounded person.

Tips & Warnings
During your first two years of college, it is acceptable to use high school achievements and experience on your resume. If you are in your junior or senior year of college, focus on your college experiences.
Do not exaggerate or make up achievements.
