How to block third party advertisers from using your facebook photos
How to block third party advertisers from using your facebook photos

Everyone loves Facebook, and almost everyone has a Facebook account. However, the issue of privacy on Facebook has always been a concern. You do not want certain people viewing your information, and you definately do not want third-party companies using your information for their own benefit. However, Facebook has agreed to let third party advertisers use your posted pictures without your permission. If you want to change your privacy settings to stop any third party advertisers on facebook from using your photos or profile information, then follow the steps outlined below.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Facebook account
  1. Step 1
    Facebook Privacy Setting Tab
    Facebook Privacy Setting Tab

Log into your Facebook account and click on the "Settings" link up at the top next to the "Logout" link. You will get a drop down box with other options. Within the drop-down box, you want to click on "Privacy". See image for reference.

  2. Step 2
Facebook News Feed and Wall Setting
Facebook News Feed and Wall Setting

Within the Privacy Settings box, there are a lot of options to adjust which I recommend you do later (see my other article link below about Privacy settings) but right now we want to focuw on the tab that says "News Feed and Wall". Click on this to change these settings. See the image for reference.

  3. Step 3
    Facebook Ads Setting Page
    Facebook Ads Setting Page

On the News Feed and Wall setting page, we want to look at the grey tab at the top that says "Facebook Ads". Click on this. See the image for reference.

  4. Step 4
Facebook Ads Settings Page - no third party use
Facebook Ads Settings Page - no third party use

On the Facebook Ads page, we have a very limited amount of information that we can change. Click on the drop down box, and select "No One". This will block out third party advertisers from being able to harvest your information for their own use.

  5. Step 5

Now click save at the bottom of the screen to make sure that your privacy settings have been changed and activated.

  6. Step 6

Now, your profile should be protected against third-party advertisers coming in and using your photos or info for their own use. You should now help out all of your friends on Facebook and send them this article so that they can also change their privacy settings. Additionally, if you want to really secure your profile and block access to your profile for certain friends or groups, read the articles I have linked below in the links section.
