Frontline Plus for dogs is a product that comes in a plastic tube in liquid form that is recommended by many veterinarians as a way to get rid of fleas and ticks and keep them away. Frontline Plus can remove any living flea or tick for up to 30 days. A new application is necessary each month. To apply the product, cut the tip of the tube off and let it drip onto the dog's skin. Be sure to move the hair out of the way before applying the product. The most common area to apply Frontline Plus is on the back of the dog's neck. It can also be applied to the dog's back. The product comes in packages of three to 12 applications.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Weigh your dog. Frontline Plus is available in a range of formulas based on the weight of the dog. Each box of Frontline Plus is color-coded and printed with the corresponding weight on the front of the box. For example, if your dog weighs less than 22 pounds you should buy the yellow box.

  2. Step 2

Talk to your veterinarian. Although there is no prescription necessary, the veterinarian might prefer to examine the dog before recommending Frontline Plus.

  3. Step 3

Several websites sell Frontline Plus for dogs (two are listed in the Resources section). Many websites also offer discounts if you purchase a large quantity.

  4. Step 4

Look for coupons. Some websites that sell Frontline Plus for dogs offer coupons that provide a discount for buying at least a 6-month supply. You may also receive coupons in the mail to use when you visit the veterinarian.

Tips & Warnings
  • When searching online for Frontline Plus, beware of gimmicks. Avoid sites that offer great deals that seem too good to be true. For example, there are legitimate sites that offer discounts and free shipping, but those that offer a year's supply for the price of three month's worth usually expect you to join their membership and pay a fee in order to receive the deal. No prescription is necessary to purchase Frontline Plus for dogs online.
