How to be prepared for a power outage.

    It is important to be prepared for any emergency that may occur. For example, in case of a prolonged power outage you need to have the proper essentials to get through the crisis.

  2. Step 2

    First, it is important to have bottled water on hand. In addition, you should have at least two flashlights and extra batteries as a back up. You need to have food on hand so you don’t go hungry. You need to stock up on food that doesn’t have to be heated or baked. Can goods such as soup, tuna fish, and juice would come in handy at a time such as this.

  3. Step 3

    Finally, you should also have some candles and matches on hand. Candles and flashlights can serve as your light source until the electric is up and running again. Most important, make sure you have at least one fully charged cell phone as a means of communication. Electrical failures normally knock out phone service.
