1. When you land at Singapore Changi Airport, follow the crowd toward immigration, and then pick up your luggage and go through the luggage check. Note that Singapore has very strict rules and they are enforced strictly, so make sure that you do NOT bring anything illegal (according to Singapore rule) into Singapore.

2. Get Singapore cash. ATM is the best, since it offer the best rate, even with the surcharge from your bank. There are plenty of ATM machines in the airport, so simply follow the sign. One USD is roughly 1.5 Singapore Dollar (google : 1 usd in singapore dollar).

3. Follow the sign to taxi stand, and take the taxi to your destination. English is the official language in Singapore, so you should have no trouble.

4. Make sure that you obtain the rules and be polite. Singapore has one of the most strict rules for things such as spit on the street.
