Things You'll Need:
- Leaves of Formium
- Glass cylinder
- floating candle : 2"to 4" diameter
-
Step 1
Variegated FormiumBuy one leaf for every cylinder . You can go to the local flower store or you can look around the neighborhood to find a similar plant. Ask your neighbor if you can cut a few leaves. People are generally willing if you tell them what you will be doing with the leaf! You may even have something alike in your own garden! There are all green formiums or mixed yellow and green. The variegated type is much brighter and people will see them from a distance.
-
Step 2
example of 2 different formium in glass cylinderBuy glass cylinders at local discount store. Choose the heights according to the table or altar they will be setting on. Too short and nobody will see them! They are generally very inexpensive. A good height for the tall cylinder is about 13" and 5" in diameter.
-
Step 3
Soak the leaves for 5 minutes so they will be easy to handle. Line the inside of the cylinder, starting from the bottom up. Fill the vase almost to the top with water. Add a floating candle. Voila!!! Arrange the vases in sets of two or three.( different heights look better) When you light them , the setting will be fantastic!
