Fill the shaker tin with 1 cup ice, then add the tequila, triple sec, simple syrup, lime juice and a splash of orange juice.

    • 2

Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds or until the surface of the tin begins to ice up.

    • 3

Fill the glass with ice, then strain the drink into the glass, garnishing with a lime slice.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make a frozen margarita, blend all the ingredients from step one in a blender for 10 to 15 seconds.

  • A moderately priced white or gold tequila will yield the best results.

  • To salt your glass, spread 1/4 cup of kosher salt onto a bread plate. Squeeze the lime onto the lip of the glass, circling the lip to wet all of it. Place the lip gently into the salt and rotate it completely around to cover the edge of the glass with salt.

  • Make your own simple syrup by combining an equal amount of sugar with boiling water, and allow the sugar to dissolve completely.

  • If you decide to head out after your home happy hour or cocktail party, make sure that you either cab it or appoint a designated driver.
