Step 1
Determine if you really want to jailbreak your iPod Touch
Jailbreaking removes certain restrictions embedded in your device, allowing you to add applications from 3rd party sources that don't have to go through the Apple store. In other words, it gives you access to tons of free themes, applications, and methods of customization, all for free.
However, it also voids the warranty. Fortunately, you can easily restore your iPod Touch to factory settings, so unless you bring a jailbroken iTouch into an Apple store, this isn't a problem. -
Step 2
Get the proper procedures
Jailbreaking firmware 3.0 is different than jailbreaking prior versions. It's actually not that hard, but the information on jailbreaking it is dispersed all throughout the internet. It can take many hours to figure out.
Fortunately, there is a guide specifically written for a the iPod Touch firmware 3.0. It's easy to access, but you have to pay $4.95. Just go to: http://youripodtouchjailbreak.blogspot.com/ -
