Use Netflix Efficiently

Are you one of over 10 million Netflix subscribers? Those red envelopes deliver whatever your heart desires. There are many ways to get the most for your money being a Netflix subscriber. Follow these steps to maximize your account and save money.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make it a habit to add a movie to your queue immediately when someone recommends a good movie. Netflix subscriptions give you access to thousands of movies that would otherwise be hard to get.

  2. Step 2

Use Netflix to learn something. Are you trying to loose weight? Try renting Crunch: Cardio Salsa. What about learning Sign Language? Netflix has Sign Language DVD Series.

  3. Step 3

Try instant viewing. If you don’t have a lot of time, catch up on your favorite episodes of sitcoms. 30 Rock, The Office, and Weeds are all under 30 minutes per episode.

  4. Step 4

Pause your account when you are out of town. Just click on “Your Account” in the top right corner. Under the heading “Account information” click on “Put membership on hold.” You won’t be charged your monthly fee until you reactivate your account.

  5. Step 5

After you finish watching a movie, put it in the envelope immediately. You won’t forget to mail it out.

Tips & Warnings
  • Netflix is cheap. Going to a movie theatre for two costs around $20. That same $20 will get you two months of Netflix with unlimited DVDs one at a time as well as unlimited online instant viewing.
