Things You'll Need:
- 1/8 a yard of 100% Nylon fabric
- Sewing machine
- Hand sewing needles
- Measuring tape
-
Step 1
Measuring TapeFirst, your going to measure the part of your head.If your making a headband for someone else, measure the part of their head where you want the headband to sit.
-
Step 2
Nylon FabricNext, your going to cut a piece of nylon.Reminder, cut a piece of nylon 3 inches wide by the length of yours or the person's head your measuring. Then, with the nylon fabric your going to fold right sides together.Reminder, fold right sides lengthwise and then sew along the length with a small zig zag stitch. When sewing along the length zig zagged, make sure you sew zig zag in a close stitch length. When following this step, this will help your fabric stay in good condition and maintain its stretch ability.Reminder, this step will also help you close your seam securely.Next, your going to have to use a 1/2 inch seam allowance. After you have used your seem allowance, your going to trim close to seam when finished. Then, your going to have to turn your fabric right side out.
-
Step 3
Headband.EnjoyNext, while your seam is treated as the back of the band, your going to have to sew the two fronts together. Finally, hand stitch the back of the seams closed. Now, you can enjoy your home made headband and decorate it.
