How to Make The Best Raspberry or Cherry Pie

This article is about how to make the best tasting and yet easiest to prepare black or red raspberry pie. This is also an excellent recipe for red cherry pie.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 prepared pie crusts
  • 4 cups of black or red raspberries or 4 cups of pitted sweet red cherries.
  • 3/4 to 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  1. Step 1

    Mix sugar and flour until blended.

  2. Step 2

    Add berries to flour and sugar mixture and mix gently until berries are thoroughly coated.

  3. Step 3

    Pour berry mixture into 9" pie shell

  4. Step 4

    Cover with top crust, seal and flute the pie edge.

  5. Step 5

    Make two or three slits in the center top of the pie for steam to escape.

  6. Step 6

    Cover the edge crust of the pie with aluminum foil to prevent it from burning.

  7. Step 7

    Make two or three slits in the center of the pie for steam to escape.

  8. Step 8

    Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 3 to 5 minutes or until top of pie is golden brown. Really delicious. Even better served warm with ice cream.
