Got an old gas or charcoal grill taking up space? Turn it into a 'portable' square foot garden!
Remove the grill/grates. If a gas grill is used you can either remove the burner or just leave it in. Most grills have holes in the bottom, so drainage is taken care of.
Do not have an old grill?
You might be able to find a really cheap one at a garage sale. Or even set out for trash pick up.
