Fall is the time of the year when the days are shorter and the air is cooler. Come September you need to start planning your fall color and decorating scheme. Remove the ceiling light fixtures and wash them, change the light bulbs before you screw the fixtures back on. Next Clean the ceiling fans and remove the spider webs on the ceiling.

  2. Step 2

Clean your windows inside and out. When the windows are clean, the natural light will warm your home throughout the fall season.

Remove your bed linen including your mattress pad and launder. Dry clean your comforter, pillows and drapes.

  7. Step 7

Wrap, pack and fold all summer clothing, shoes, bedding, bath, kitchen and décor items. Store these items in heavy plastic containers with locking lids. Place the containers in your basement or garage this will allow you more room in closets and drawers for your fall and winter attire.

  8. Step 8

Deep clean all of your carpets. By cleaning your carpets, you will remove dirt, dust, and pet dander.

  9. Step 9

Check your furnace filter. It is best to change the filter seasonally such as spring summer fall and winter. To help remove dust and allergens, purchase an allergen-reducing filter.
