How to Print a CD Insert Page

With the increasing ease by which individuals can create their own digital media, especially CDs, there has naturally been a corresponding increase in CD and DVD burning drives. The popularity of file sharing among computer users has also led to an abundance of users creating their own mix CDs. To take the creativity even further, advances in productivity software allow amateur DJs and music enthusiasts to create their own disc packaging. You can print your own CD insert pages by following a few simple steps.

Open Microsoft Word. If you do not have Microsoft Word, you can download a free trial using the link in Resources. Click once on the "View" drop down menu and select the "Task Pane" option. This will launch a pane to the right of the Microsoft Windows screen.

Click once on the "Templates on Microsoft" link under the "New from template" header. This will launch an Internet browser window that will allow you to choose from different Microsoft Office templates. Type "cd insert" (without quotes) into the "Templates" search field and click once on the "Search" button. This will list a variety of pre-formatted CD insert templates that you can download and edit to suit your need.

Click once on the link to the template that you want to use. Make certain that it is compatible with either your version of Word or another Office program that you have available. The compatibility is listed under the template heading under "Version." After the browser navigates to the template's web page, click once on the "Download" button and follow the download instructions. The template will automatically launch in Word.

Edit the CD insert page with the appropriate text for your disc. Because the template is in Word, you can use all of the text editing features available by highlighting, replacing or using the tools under the "Format" drop down menu. Images can be deleted by clicking once on them and then pressing the "Delete" (Del) button. Insert new images using the "Picture" options from the "Insert" drop-down menu.

Print the CD insert page by clicking once on the "File" drop-down menu and once on the "Print" option. Select a printer using the "Printer name" drop-down menu. Click once on the "OK" button to send the page to the printer.
