How to Find Freezer Paper

Freezer paper is used to store food for extended periods in the freezer, as well as for various crafts. Since it has two sides: a plastic coated and non-coated, it has versatility when used for crafts. Finding freezer paper is not as difficult as you might think, but you might have to look outside the usual places you shop to find it.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate freezer paper made by Reynolds in your local grocery store next to the aluminum foil and wax paper. This freezer paper can also be used for crafts. There is a link to tips for using freezer paper in food storage and crafts in the resources.

    • 2

Find an online retailer (see resource) to purchase your freezer paper on the Internet. Be sure that the product specifies that it is freezer paper. Wax paper and parchment paper are both different products and these cannot be interchanged.

    • 3

Look for freezer paper in sewing, craft or hobby stores near the quilting supplies. This is one of its most common uses outside of the kitchen.

    • 4

Use freezer paper for quilting by tracing the design onto the dull (non-coated) side and cutting it out. Then iron the coated side against the fabric. This will transfer the design to the fabric. Cut the design out of the fabric, adding at least 1/4" for a seam on all sides. With the freezer paper at the back of the design, stitch it onto the background fabric, leaving a small 1/4" unstitched place in the seam. Pull the freezer paper out of this hole an finish stitching, if desired.
