If you know that a friend's husband has cheated on her, you may want to let her know. That decision is up to you. Follow these steps to break the news to her.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure you know the truth first. Do not ever tell a woman that her husband has cheated on her unless you are 100% certain. Get all of your facts straight and organize your thoughts so that you can be prepared to answer her questions.

  2. Step 2

Arrange a meeting between you and your friend. Make this a time that is good for both of you when you will not be around anyone else, not even children. Let her know that you have something that you need to talk to her about and that it is very serious. That way, she will know that you are not getting together to have a fun time, she will be somewhat prepared for a "not so fun" time.

  3. Step 3

Be prepared for her to cry, yell, get upset (even upset at YOU), and react in many different ways. If you honestly feel that you need to tell her about the cheating, just know that she may react in a number of ways and prepare yourself for how you can handle that.

  4. Step 4

Tell her about the infidelity. Let her know HOW you know and offer proof if you can. She may not believe you. If she doesn't, you have done your part.

  5. Step 5

Do not judge her for any decision that she makes regarding the cheating. If she decides to stay with her husband, support that. If she chooses to leave him, support that as well. If she asks for your advice, by all means give it to her. But it is her life and her relationship- not yours. So do not make her feel bad for anything that she may decide.
