How to Spell Relief (De-Stress your life in 6 steps)

The following is my take on what a body needs. I was invincible or so I thought. Full of energy and never sick. Then it all hit me when I reached that special age! Do I hear 50? That's right, it's all down hill from there...take care of your body NOW so it will take care of you. You will love yourself for it when you get older.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Imagination
  • Creativity
  • Smile
  • Friends
  1. Step 1
Shhhhh..... Serious Resting Going On Here!

Shhhhh..... Serious Resting Going On Here!

R ~ is for Rest. Your body needs it. In fact, it demands it. You heard of "burning the candle at both ends". You can't do that forever. Your body will give out eventually. You have to figure out the amount of sleep your body needs. Some can get by on 6 hours while some need 8 hours. That's right; you have to limit your time playing on the computer so you can get to bed earlier, or least that's what my Doctor told me.....

  2. Step 2

E ~ is for Exercise. The older you get the less energy you have. I don't know why this happens. It's called getting older and we all end up there. The older you get the more critical exercise is for your body. The problem is....if you didn't exercise while you were young; it is difficult to begin a regimen later in life. My doctor(s) politely tell me all the time that I need to watch TV less and exercise more; so I brought the treadmill in from the garage. Now if I could just put it in front of the TV......

  3. Step 3
    ROFLOL

    ROFLOL

L ~ is for Laughter. Laughter truly is the best medicine. It helps the body, the mind, and the soul. Laughter creates a pleasant surrounding. It takes the edge off serious situations. In order to laugh you have to first smile. Look in the mirror. Are you smiling? Probably not, because it doesn't come natural to smile. Did you know a frown is easier that a smile? Stand in front of the mirror every morning and smile at yourself. Make a promise to that person in the mirror that you will smile and laugh at least one time today! That's a good start.....

  4. Step 4
    How 'bout we....

    How 'bout we....

I ~ is for Imagination. My zodiac sign is Pisces so I have a head start on most people when it comes to creativity and imagination. What a dull world it would be if we could not dream and create and imagine a better way. A better way of what you ask? A better way of anything you are doing. Imagine preparing a meal differently, or mowing the yard, or pairing up your clothes, or shopping at a different store. Creativity and Imagination are very important tools that we are all born with. You just have to learn to use them. Surprise your family and keep them guessing as to what you will come up with next....

  5. Step 5
    Woo Hoo!

    Woo Hoo!

E ~ is for Entertaining. I used to think I had to cook all day and make everything from scratch so my friends and family would enjoy coming to my house for a get together. All they really wanted was my friendship and love and to sit and visit with me. Use the "KISS" method. Keep It Short & Simple. Cook hamburgers and make potato salad or just serve Potato Chips. Let your friends come over early and help you. Get everyone involved and you will have a great time plus you will not be so worn out that you can't visit and laugh. Wow, look how the L word can be combined with the E word! Have Oreo's and Ice Cream for dessert. It doesn't have to be homemade; it just has to be chocolate.....

  6. Step 6
    Lets Roll...

    Lets Roll...

F ~ is for Friendship. I always thought I was pleasant to be around and that I had a lot of friends. Then one day, I started thinking about my friends and I realized that I had been so consumed in my career that I had lost track of them. So I set out to get reunited. What a wonderful experience it is to have good friends you can call up and say 'Hey, can I come over for a glass of Iced Tea?" Friends are extremely important in your life. Find them and put them in a safe place....

Tips & Warnings
  • Set goals but not too many at once. Don't make them impossible to reach.
  • Be true to yourself.
  • Remember the saying "Don't Worry...Be Happy".
  • Have faith that things will turn out alright.
  • Select your friends wisely. You don't need high maintenance friends!
  • Warning......getting too many friends on FaceBook and/or MySpace will cut in to your exercise time and will make you lose sleep!
