  1. Step 1

    Step One-
    Your first step is to click the Start button on your task bar and then click the My Computer command on the Start menu.

    Step Two
    Click Tools on the My Computer Menu bar. On some computers it will give you the option to select organize instead of tools. Yet most computers will have a Tools menu. Click the Folder Options command on the menu selected to display the Folder Options dialog box for Windows XP.

    Step Three-
    If necessary, click the General tab in the folder options dialog box to display the General sheet in Windows XP.
    On a piece of paper write down the name of each folder option that is selected in the General sheet in the Folder Options dialog box. This will help you keep track of what you set it too.

Tips & Warnings
  • Like I said in the steps it's good to write down what you currently have your settings as. This way you can change them back easily.
