Things You'll Need:
- 1.5 lbs ground meat (beef, chuck, etc)
- 6-8 cans condensed tomato soup
- 1 large onion
- 2 cans pinto beans (drained)
- 2 cans diced tomatoes with chili peppers
- chili powder season to taste
-
Step 1
Dice large onion and put into pan covering with water just above the onion, salt and pepper and stir. Boil until the onions are soft.
-
Step 2
Brown ground meat and drain.
-
Step 3
Put onions into a large stock pot and start with 6 cans of tomato soup, add in browned ground meat, cans of beans, cans of tomatoes with chili peppers and stir thoroughly.
-
Step 4
If the chili is too thick, add-in additional cans of tomato soup, chili should be not be too thin but this can be a preference. Sprinkle the entire top of the chili with chili powder, stir thoroughly again. Cook at a low heat or cook in a crock pot on the low setting for 2 hours.
-
Step 5
After 1 hour take a taste test and add-in additional chili powder and cayenne powder if you like a little kick to it, return to cooking for an additional hour, making sure the beans are soft.
