get a job interview at Walmart

Like many other companies, Walmart has made the shift from accepting paper job applications to now accepting only online job applications. With much less opportunity to sell yourself to a representative of the store who, at one time, would be accepting your job application in person, it becomes very important to know what it is that makes your online application stand out and gives you an edge over the other applicants.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer or a hiring kiosk in the store and a telephone
  1. Step 1

Complete you application at the hiring kiosk in the store or online from home.

  2. Step 2

Make sure every page is complete before you submit the application.

  3. Step 3

Always leave a phone number at which you can actually be reached.

  4. Step 4

When choosing your areas of interest (departments), select ANYTHING that you would remotely be interested in. If a job opens in a department that you have not selected, you will not be considered.

  5. Step 5

When asked about your availability, leave each day wide open. This is important!

  6. Step 6

Include all of the job experience that will fit in the employment history. If you have supermarket work experience, include every department you have worked in.

  7. Step 7

Call the store and ask if they are hiring. You may get a chance to talk to someone in their personnel office. If you do, tell them you are ready to work and available anytime!
