Things You'll Need:
- Oven
- Oven Mitts/ Pot holders
- Kitchen Timer
- Electric mixer
- 13in x 9in cake pan
- Turkey Baster
- Large Mixing Bowl
- Any brand yellow cake mix
- Three eggs
- 1 1/4 cup of water
- One stick of butter
- Cream Cheese Icing
- Fresh blueberries
-
Step 1
Pre-heat your oven temperature according to your pan size/finish as the mix instructs.
-
Step 2
Start out by emptying the cake mix into the large mixing bowl.
-
Step 3
Add 1 1/4 cup of water to cake mix.
-
Step 4
Add one stick of butter (not margarine!), softened in the microwave for no more than 30 seconds.
-
Step 5
Add all three eggs.
-
Step 6
Mix on low speed for 30 seconds, and then on medium speed for 2 minutes.
-
Step 7
Soften (not liquefy) cream cheese icing in the microwave for 25 seconds, and add two to four spoonfuls to cake mix. Stir until well blended.
-
Step 8
Add three small handfuls of fresh blueberries to batter. Do not use the electric mixer, as you do not want to blend the blueberries in (i.e liquefy them) but rather mix them in (i.e mix them in whole).
-
Step 9
Bake for 20 to 35 minutes depending on altitude and the finish of your pan (dark, non-stick, glass, etc.).
-
Step 10
Remove cake from oven and check for done ness by inserting a toothpick in the center. If batter sticks to toothpick, then your cake is not quite done. Add five minutes to the timer then try again. If it doesn't stick, your cake is done. Take it out and move to step 11.
-
Step 11
Place unused portion of the cream cheese icing in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds. It should be in liquid form now. Since you have already removed your cake from the oven, you will now use the turkey baster to drizzle the icing over the cake.
-
Step 12
Let cool for 25 to 30 minutes, pour yourself a tall glass of cold milk, and enjoy!
