The problem is that few stores carry used laptops anymore, so the best place to find them is online.

Go to UsedLaptops.com (see Resources). This website specializes in the sale of used laptops.

Look through the featured laptops, which will be on the homepage. If you'd like something else, you can browse by brand or by features (DVD burner, Windows XP, etc.).

Click on a computer that you like for more information on the hardware. If you want to purchase it, click "Add to Basket." If not, click the "Back" button on the browser and continue your search.

Select "Secure Checkout" if you are done shopping and want to purchase the selected computer.

Fill in your shipping information (and billing if different from the shipping address). You will also be asked where you heard about UsedLaptops. Select "No" when asked to guarantee your shipment with a bond (this is basically the site trying to sell you something you don't need), then click "Continue" and fill out your payment information as well as how you'd like your laptop shipped. Finally, click "Submit" and the order will be placed. You will receive your "new" used laptop computer in the mail within a few days.
