How to Play 9-Ball Billiards Online

Nine-ball billiards is slightly different from standard billiards in that only balls 1 through 9 are on the table. You can learn to play 9-ball billiards on Internet versions of the game. Depending on which game you choose, you will have the option of playing alone, playing against another human player or playing against a computer opponent. Each game listed in this piece is free.

1. Play 9-ball on Online Games. This website allows you to play a single player game without signing up on the website. You also have the option of creating an account on the right side of the page. Once you do, you will be able to play multi-player 9-ball games. To learn how to play the game, click the "Controls" option in the center of the game page.

2. Go to the Kongregate 9-ball page. In this game, you will need to sink all 9 balls in order before the timer expires. You do not need to create an account to play 9-ball on Kongregate. The 9-ball game will load and begin a few seconds after the page loads.

3. Visit the 9-ball page on the Mousebreaker website. This website gives you the option of adding your score to the high scores page without having to create an account on the site. In this game, you need to sink all nine balls before the three-minute timer expires. Click the "How to Play" tab on the main page to read the instructions for this game. Click "Play" to begin the game.

4. Play 9-ball on the Candystand website. Candystand is a website that hosts several single and multi-player games and lets users play these games without creating an account. When you get to the website, you can choose to join any open game, create a private game or join a private game that's been set up by one of your friends. You also can choose to play against a computer opponent. When you make your selection, you will be asked to enter your initials. Then, click "Click to Play," and your 9-ball game will begin.
