Things You'll Need:
- tennis racket
- tennis balls
- tennis players or a wall
-
Step 1
Be in ready stance at the middle of the baseline on the tennis court. Feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, eyes on the ball, on the balls of your feet ready to move in either direction depending on where the ball goes.
-
Step 2
Once the ball has been hit by your opponent, be prepared to hit either a backhand or forehand by turning your shoulders and lowering your racket by your side.
The theory is to use a low to high swing, making contact with the ball in front of your body. Start with the racket low, meet the ball with the strings of your racket in front of your body, extend through the hitting zone, and finish with your racket high. -
Step 3
Return back to the baseline, getting ready for the next shot. The ball should have a trajectory of a parabola giving you more room for error to clear the tennis net. The spin on the tennis ball should have a clockwise rotation "overspin" versus slice "underspin".
