How to get your Google Voice account

Google recently introduced Google Voice, a service that allows you to have one phone number for all of your different cell, office, and home phones. When people call your Google voice number, all of your phones will ring so you won't miss a call. It also allows you to receive voice mail messages via text, to archive those messages and to search through them at a later date. If you want to make international calls, Google voice's international calling rates are very low. Best of all, this service is free. How could you get one?

Instructions

1. You have to receive an invitation from Google in order to sign up for Google voice service. It's actually pretty simple to sign up, visit this page https://services.google.com/fb/forms/googlevoiceinvite/ and entering your name and email address, then wait patiently for your Google invitation.

2. In order to increase your chance of getting an invitation more quickly, you can sign up with multiple email accounts. I did this a while ago and the invitation for my second request actually came before my first request, in fact, I am still waiting for my invitation for my first request.

3. If you really cannot wait for Google to send you the invitation, you can visit eBay or Craigslist to see if someone is selling their invitations. You should find one under $15. Google invitation is transferable, so it's OK to buy another one's invitation and then sign up with your own location phone number.
