When you find a chat room that you really like, here are some tips on how to stay away from the drama!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer
  • Time
  • A need to connect with people online
  • A good attitude
  1. Step 1

Find a place to chat. You can go to Yahoo, Talkcity, UrChat just to name a couple. Or you can just type in Free Chat rooms in your search engine.

  2. Step 2

Once you find a site that you are comfortable with, start checking out the rooms that they have to offer. Most sites have trivia rooms, rooms that geographically oriented, rooms that deal with sexual preferences, rooms that are for certain age groups, etc.

  3. Step 3

Finding a room that fits you may take awhile, but as you are checking each room out, remember to see how the chatters treat each other. If a room host allows people to be obscene and rude to each other, it's a good bet the room is not going to a fun one.

  4. Step 4

While you are travelling from room to room, chat site to chat site, make others aware of your presence in a positive way. Don't go in being rude and obnoxious. Go in being pleasant and polite, and see how you are received.

  5. Step 5

Once you find a room that seems to fit you, just remember to keep things real. Also, don't limit yourself to just one site or chat room.

  6. Step 6

Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. You may be lucky enough to meet friends that will last a lifetime!
