If you're making an iced mocha, use cold instead of hot coffee.

When high temperatures hit, many coffee lovers turn towards ice cold coffee beverages. Unfortunately, most coffee makers make hot coffee which, when added to ice, creates a watered-down tasteless drink. Using cold coffee for these beverages solves the problem. Because making cold coffee takes considerably more time than making hot coffee, make larger quantities and store them in the refrigerator for later use. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Coffee maker
  • 12 tbsp. coffee
  • 10 cups water
  • Pitcher

Instructions

      Prepare 10 cups of coffee in your coffee maker.

      Pour the hot coffee into a pitcher. To avoid shattering, do not use a glass pitcher unless it is made of tempered glass.

      Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and chill for about four hours.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to sweeten your cold coffee, prepare a simple sugar syrup by boiling water and dissolving an equal amount of sugar. Regular granulated sugar does not dissolve well in cold beverages.

  • For a Vietnamese treat, add sweetened condensed milk and ice to your cold coffee.
