Things You'll Need:
- Wax
- Dye
- Fragrance
- Wicks
- Wick weights
- Molds (optional)
- Ribbon (optional)
- Small Glass Candle Holders (optional)
-
Step 1
Candles make great wedding favors and making them yourself can save you money. When you make your own candle wedding favors you can mold them to any shape that fits the theme of your wedding and you can choose any color, whether you want it to match your fiances eyes or your bridesmaids dresses.
-
Step 2
Melt the wax until it is liquid, making sure you do not heat it too quickly and burn it. Use the lowest setting on your stove top.
-
Step 3
Stir in the coloring and perfumes once the clear wax has liquefied. Start with a small amount and add more if it is not satisfactory.
-
Step 4
Cut your wicks and pinch the wick weights onto the ends. Place the wicks inside your molds and secure them to the bottom with a small dab of hot wax to keep them from moving when you fill the molds.
-
Step 5
Carefully fill your molds with the wax, tapping the filled mold gently on your work surface to remove any bubbles that may have become trapped.
-
Step 6
Let your candles cool for at least 24 hours and then gently remove them from the molds. They should come out very easily.
-
Step 7
Wrap a bow around each candle or tie two candles together to create beautiful wedding favors.
-
Step 8
Or to create candles as in the picture above, fill small glass containers with your candles. You can even find some containers that are monogrammed or personalized. (Click on the link below to find cheap candle holders)
