How to Change My Eye Color in My Picture Without Photoshop

Often, when we take a photograph, we find that there are things about it we would like to be able to change. One change you might want to make is the eye color. You might have thought you would need an expensive photo-editing program to make such a change, but you can easily do it using GIMP, which is freeware.

      Download and install GIMP.

      Load your image onto your computer's hard drive, either directly via a USB cable or by scanning it in.

      Open GIMP. Select "File" and click "Open." Browse to the photo you want to work with and open it.

      Select the "Lasso Selection" tool from the "Toolbox." Use it to draw a selection around the iris of the right eye. Zoom in if you need to. Then change the tool mode to "Subtract" and deselect the area of the pupil. You now have a donut-shaped selection of the iris.

      Select "Colors" and click "Hue-Saturation." Change the "Hue" and "Saturation" sliders until you get a color you like. Then click the "+" button to save the color as a preset. Click "OK." Then just repeat this process for the other eye, using the color preset you saved so that the two eyes match.
