According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the most common type of cancer in women is breast cancer. In fact, it is one of the top 10 leading causes of death for women living in the United States. Fortunately, there are numerous organizations that promote breast cancer awareness, prevention, research and education, and you can show your support by purchasing their pink and white merchandise. In many cases, the merchandise you purchase directly benefits prevention and research.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Participate in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk, an event in which walkers raise money toward breast cancer prevention and research. Before the walk, buy shirts, hats, jewelry and collectibles from the 3 Day Gear Web site and wear your merchandise on the 3-day walk.

  2. Step 2

Purchase merchandise from the Breast Cancer Site Store. In addition to an extensive selection of clothing, the site sells such pink items as flip-flops, walking shoes, lunch bags, calendars and garden accessories. A portion of the proceeds from each item purchased helps pay for mammograms for women in need.

  3. Step 3

Check out the merchandise at the Pink Ribbon Marketplace. If you're interested in purchasing merchandise in bulk for fundraising or events, the marketplace offers low, wholesale prices.

  4. Step 4

Purchase merchandise at Breastcancer.org, a nonprofit organization that provides information and support. The store provides a large selection of pink and black bowling merchandise, home decor and books about breast cancer awareness and prevention. A percentage of the proceeds goes directly to the organization.
